Updated: Nov 18, 2022

Morocco kicks off their World Cup campaign against World Cup 2018 finalists Croatia on 23rd November 2022 at the Al Bayt Stadium, Al Khor, Qatar.

This will kickstart Group F of the Qatar World Cup 2022.

The two teams are joined in Group F by Belgium and Canada.

Morocco’s key stars include Paris Saint Germain’s Achraf Hakimi, captain Romain Saiss and Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech. The 29-year-old is back involved with his national team following the notorious fallout with former coach Halilhodzic.

Morocco will be spearheaded by Walid Regragui who was appointed following the departure or former head coach Vahid Halilhodzic in August.

In his first World Cup can he get the Moroccan’s off to a flyer?

For Croatia, they will be headed by Zlatko Dalic who will be taking the Croatian’s to the World Cup for the second time.

Croatia’s contingent includes captain Luka Modric, who is arguably one of the best midfielders in the world at Real Madrid. Alongside Mateo Kovacic of Chelsea and highly rated 20-year-old defender Josko Gvardiol of RB Leipzig, the Croatians will look to utilise their abundance of experience and talent to go deep into the tournament.

A good start will be imperative for both teams’ ambitions to progress through the group stage.

With tough games against FIFA World Ranking #2 side Belgium looming for both of them.

Morocco will be looking to improve on their group stage exit in Russia four years ago.

Meanwhile, Croatia will be trying to go one step further within the World Cup amid superstar Luka Modric’s potential last chance of bringing Croatia footballing glory.
